Announcement: Release of SeaDAS 4.1
SeaDAS 4.1 is available for all supported platforms starting November 9, 2001.
Supported platforms:SGI (IRIX 6.3 & 6.5), SUN (Solaris 2.6 & 2.7), PC (Red Hat Linux 6.0, 6.2, 7.0, & 7.1)
SeaDAS 4.1 provides the user with the latest SeaWiFS and OCTS processing programs, plus the ability to display newer formats of MODIS data products.
As in the past, running the SeaWiFS processing programs in SeaDAS with all defaults set, will result in identical products to those available at the Goddard DAAC.
Major Changes from SeaDAS 4.0 (with 3 updates applied):
- General enhancements:
- IDL 5.4 officially supported
- IDL runtime support for IDL 5.4
- Processing program modifications:
- New Level-2 processing program (msl12 V2.8.5)
- Enhanced to provide OCTS L1A GAC processing support
- PAR product code improvements for accuracy
- Rayleigh tables for OCTS and MOS updated to include wind-dependent effects
- Surface reflectance now valid over water, as well as land
- New products added:
- TOA reflectance
- Calcite concentration
- Cloud optical thickness
- Remote sensing reflectance
- Sea surface temperature associated with each pixel, derived from climatology data
- Chlor-a from fit to Garver-Siegel-Maritorena semi-analytical model
- Note: this product is tuned for global ocean, primarily in blue water, and is not optimised for all conditions
- Absorption coefficient for dissolved detrital material
- Particulate backscatter coefficient
- Water-vapor transmittance
- Processing programs beyond Level 2
- Enhanced to provide better multi-sensor processing support
- New mosl1corr processing program
- Destripes MOS L1B files
- Code provided by MOS Project, DLR Institute of Remote Sensing Technology, Berlin, Germany
- Program l1agen has been modified to improve the navigation processing in order to reduce the seasonal variations in accuracy.
- General display program:
- Enhanced to display newer MODIS L1, L2, and L3 products
